This wild rice stuffing is hearty, perfect on its own as a side dish or paired with our Stuffed Mushroom Caps recipe.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup wild rice (uncooked)
- 4 cups day-old French bread (cubed)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 medium Vidalia onion (chopped)
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup pecans (coarsely chopped)

Directions
| Cook wild rice according to the instructions on the package; set aside. | |
| Preheat oven to 350°F. | |
| Spread cubed French bread in a single layer on a baking sheet. Broil for 2 minutes or until lightly toasted. | |
| Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and minced garlic; cook, stirring, for 3 minutes. | |
| Add thyme, salt, pepper, and cooked rice; cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. | |
| Add pecans and toasted bread cubes; toss lightly. | |
