Jumpa Lagi! Yāt Louh Seuhn Fùng!

Jumpa Lagi! Yāt Louh Seuhn Fùng!

Today is a great day. Shiraaz and I are off to our honeymoon – finally! – this afternoon. Based on the phrases in this post's title (they are each a different language), can you guess where we're going? Come on, give me a guess... Alright, I'll put you out of your misery. Here's the plan:

[google-map-v3 width="470" height="470" zoom="12" maptype="roadmap" mapalign="center" directionhint="false" language="default" poweredby="false" maptypecontrol="true" pancontrol="true" zoomcontrol="true" scalecontrol="true" streetviewcontrol="true" scrollwheelcontrol="false" draggable="true" tiltfourtyfive="false" addmarkermashupbubble="false" addmarkermashupbubble="false" addmarkerlist="Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia{}4-default.png|Langkawi, Malaysia{}4-default.png|Hong Kong{}4-default.png" bubbleautopan="true" showbike="false" showtraffic="false" showpanoramio="false"]

Southeast Asia! I couldn't be more excited. Neither Shiraaz nor I have ever traveled to this part of the world before and I'm so excited to explore, relax and eat, eat, eat. The phrases, by the way, are Malay for "See you soon!" and Cantonese for "Bon voyage!" Appropriate, no?

Here are the reading materials we've packed:

A Passage to India is Shiraaz's pick. Eighty Days is a new novel from Random House about two female journalists' 1889 race around the world – perfect reading material for my own globetrotting. And the latest issue of The Atlantic because it arrived in the mail yesterday and I'm sure the article about robots replacing doctors will thrill Shiraaz. /sarcasm

And because this is a house that doesn't discriminate against digital, Shiraaz grabbed Gone Girl on his iPad and I downloaded an ARC onto my Kindle. Will we get through all of these books? It seems unlikely since there will be so much to see and do but Chicago to Hong Kong is a 15-hour flight. We'll see how much we manage to tackle.

It's been a slow week with reading and cooking what with wrapping up work and getting ready for the trip. So please, tell me in the comments, what did you read or cook this week? I'd love some ideas for when I return!

If you're interested in checking in with me on my travels, follow me on Twitter and Instagram – my username is @aminamania on both.

Happy end of February to you all!
