Last Saturday, I checked out the 10th annual Good Food Festival at the UIC Forum here in Chicago. It was a veritable consortium of food producers, teachers and enthusiasts with the common goal of promoting local, delicious things to eat and use. It was wonderful to see not only the variety of vendors with stalls, but also the diversity of the attendees. I saw everyone from older connoisseurs to ravenous toddlers. (The latter provided more people watching entertainment.) My impression of the festival is that it's a wonderful opportunity to eat and learn, but also simply a fun way to spend an afternoon. Unfortunately I was not able to partake in too many of the festival's activities since I was in the midst of a wedding that weekend, but wandering the main hall, sneaking peeks at some demos in action and tasting some amazing food was a lot of fun.
Until next year! (Spoiler alert: Bunnies and other cuteness below.)
A big thank you to the Good Food Festival for inviting PAPER/PLATES to be media sponsors of the event!
