The TBR List: Lost

The TBR List: Lost

No, not a TV reference. I'm lost these days in the sense that I've been leaving my iPhone in my hotel room (we don't have service here anyway), so we're glancing at maps before leaving then generally wandering toward our destination.

Two nights ago, we stumbled upon the Istanbul fish market, and behind it a fun restaurant with delicious, fresh seafood. Fortuitous.

Yesterday, we missed the gate to Topkapi Palace and ended up in Gulhane Park. Missing it — especially at this time, with its gardens bursting with springy joy — would have been tragic.

I'll admit that we've occasionally screenshotted Google Maps directions when we know we're headed somewhere that'll be tough to find. I check news, emails, texts, Instagram and the like at night before turning in. This may be the realest part of my vacation. (The rest certainly feels like fantasy.)

I haven't read much worth sharing here this week (honestly, I've barely kept up with the news), but Stephanie Rosenbloom's "Reclaiming the Age-Old Art of Getting Lost" yesterday really spoke to me. Which kind of traveler are you?
